§ privacy policy · effective 2026-09-11

A policy about not having a policy.

GridMakr was built to do one thing on your own device and leave no trail behind it. This page exists because we're legally required to write one — but the short version really is: we don't collect anything from you, ever.

↳ The short version

We collect nothing. We send nothing. There's nothing to opt out of.

Everything runs on your own iPhone. No accounts, no telemetry, no analytics SDKs, no third-party trackers. Your photos never leave it.

§ 01

Who we are

GridMakr is an app for iPhone, published by Dennis Schmidt, an independent software developer based in Berlin, Germany. "We" throughout this policy refers to Dennis Schmidt as a sole proprietor — there is no company, no team, no investors with a stake in your data.

If you want to reach a person about anything on this page, the address is contact@dmrschmidt.de.

§ 02

What we collect from you

Nothing. The app does not transmit any data about you, your device, or your usage. There is no analytics pipeline, no error reporting service, no identifier, no fingerprint, no cookie. The matrix below is exhaustive.

Account No sign-up exists. The app opens, you compose. none
Personal info No name, email, phone number, or address is ever requested or stored. none
Device identifiers No IDFA, no advertising ID, no per-install token, no device fingerprint. none
Usage analytics No event tracking, no funnel reporting, no third-party SDKs. none
Crash reports Only what Apple collects at the OS level, if you've opted in to share with developers in iOS settings. We never see anything we can connect to you. apple-only
Your photos Handed to the app by Apple's photo picker, one post at a time. Exported only when you tap Export, to wherever you send them. Never copied off the device. on-device
§ 03

System permissions we ask for

None. GridMakr does not request a single system permission — not even Photos.

Photos Not requested. GridMakr uses Apple's PhotosPicker, which runs outside the app and hands over only the photos you tap — the app never sees your library and never asks for access to it. Exports go out through the system share sheet, so saving to Photos is Apple's own prompt, not ours. none

No microphone, camera, location, contacts, calendar, Bluetooth, local network, or motion sensor access is ever requested either.

§ 04

Purchases

There are none. GridMakr is free and contains no in-app purchases, no subscriptions and no ads, so there is no payment relationship of any kind between you and us.

If a paid upgrade is ever added it will be sold through Apple's in-app purchase, this section will be rewritten first, and the effective date at the top will change.

§ 05

Network requests GridMakr makes

Zero. You can verify this with a network proxy of your choice: the app makes no outbound request at all, not to us and not to anyone else.

The app is fully usable in airplane mode. Composing and exporting never need an internet connection.

§ 06

Children

GridMakr doesn't collect data from anyone — minors included. The app is suitable for all ages and contains no advertising, no social features, and no content beyond what you bring to it from your own camera roll.

§ 07

Your rights under GDPR (and friends)

Because we don't hold any personal data about you, most of the rights you'd normally exercise — access, rectification, erasure, portability — have nothing to apply to on our side. If that changes in the future, we'll update this page and bump the effective date at the top.

§ 08

Changes to this policy

If we ever materially change what the app does — for example, if a future version were to add a sync feature that talks to a server — we'd revise this page first, update the effective date, and call it out in the app's release notes. The current intent is to keep the app fully on-device for as long as it keeps shipping.
